We love being around our people. As a magician, astrologer, or esotericist of any kind, those people may be far flung, and meetings can be few and far between.
Something crazy happens when you put us in a room together. The energy is electric, we get to nerd out about what makes us glow, and an emergent property arises, greater than the sum of its parts.
North Star emerged with the question: “what if this but outside”
This is not a new idea - every time a sufficient number of us get together, someone speaks its name. “what if magical summer camp?? can we all get an airbnb? when will i see you again??”
How about July?North Star is our offering to those of you we love, and those of you we haven't met yet, but will love. We're throwing the stake in the ground, making a sign: gather HERE. it's a supernal idea wearing a new little mask.
North Star is less a conference and more a pop-up town. We hope we will share meals, sing songs, run into other bright stars who make up our local constellation/scene.
What more do you want!! This is the stuff of life we're talking about.

North Star will be the location where fellow magicians, astrologers, and esotericists gather to learn from one another, expand their perspectives and spend quality time together in community.
One of the lines that has come up again and again is this: we are not throwing the party, you are. Well, we both are. North Star is a canvas, where people who live a magical lifestyle can have social community. There will be enough structure to give scaffolding to the day, but the real offer we're making you is to bring your own fun - fun you might not be able to have anywhere else with another group.
This is the place to show off, in a way that brings joy, enrichment, and connection. It's a chance to do your unique thing. We invite you to consult with your gods, guides, favorite divination tool, or flock of local crows, to determine what that is.

Located in Skamokawa, Washington. Beautiful Elkenmist, a private campground/community in the pacific northwest, with its back to swaths of national forest, at the mouth of the Columbia. Outdoor kitchen, a sauna, a moss covered mother maple, a yurt. Communal meals (we think). Campground is a shaded pine grove.
No cell reception. Throw your phone in a lake, metaphorically speaking, at North Star.
Dira is a practicing Hellenistic astrologer and student Jyotishi in the lineage of Shri Achyutānanda Das devoted to using astrology to empower people to remember their unique roles in the grand ecosystem of the cosmos. She also really likes to climb around in tops of old growth trees.
Her dream for North Star is to create a space where people from as many different disciplines as possible can come together to share ideas under actual starlight.
Hawk Grubb is a magician, diarist, and professional astrologer and magical mentor based in the Pacific Northwest. With over a decade of experience in ceremonial magic and astrology, Hawk blends the personal with the traditional. They work closely with Greco-Roman deities (to name one: Apollo) and are a disciple to the living, communicative universe. You can find them at hawkstrology.com.
They want North Star to exist because they love people and want to be with them. Their people are magicians and astrologers, and because Apollo told them it would be sick if hawk threw a campout just for them.
Josh makes carefully ensouled talismans in the Picatrixian tradition, is an accomplished singer in the Hindustani vocal tradition & singer/dancer in Newah Charya, is a literal Buddhist priest, a literal Lama in the Rime tradition, & tends to many pigeons.
He wants North Star to exist because he knows that if enough of us who practice magic come together, then we can shape the world into the paradise we know is possible.
